ST George's Day has come and gone, and one cannot help but have noticed the number of flags that were flown bearing the St George's cross.

This proves that patriotism is still there with a big percentage of our citizens. In the USA, people are proud of their heritage, displaying the Stars and Stripes everywhere, and especially in front gardens.

In this country you just try flying the Union Jack and see what happens.

The powers-that-be are hellbent on eliminating feelings of us being English or British for reasons unknown.

Is it not obvious that there is a resentment of this treatment?

R BRYAN, Sunnybank Road, Blackburn.

I wonder if R Bryan has actually put a flag up on Sunnybank Road?
He could always paint the roof of his car, red, white and blue.
There are plenty of them about and no one bats an eye lid.
