Who on the council decided it would be a good idea to open a Nightsafe homeless hostel on Industry Street, Darwen, in a residential area?

Thanks to their ineptitude the residents of Newton/Perry Streets and Marsh Terrace are now on a more or less nightly basis subjected to gangs of youths/girls screaming their obscenities in this area, with the hostel acting like a magnet, although only having six residents.

The residents of Newton Street were never told a hostel was opening on their doorsteps.

Woodvale was a nightmare and an absolute disgrace. The businesses that work near the new James St hostel and the residents close by have already witnessed the troubles these places bring and are lumbered with an ugly building and landscape too. Walking along Duckworth St the other day the music from one of the flats was booming out and the window wide open for all to hear with no consideration for any other person. They can come and go as they please, do what they want and live the life of luxury with their own private gym. Why have staff? Why are the majority of these people homeless? You and i know the reason and the majority never change. They should be sent to one of the old army barracks where our soldiers have to reside in squalour with paint falling off the walls and be made to becime decent people.
God help the minority who reside there that want to move on and do good.
