Blackburn’s new market was named Britain’s best indoor market by the National Association of British Market Authorities LT, January 27).
Where else did they look?
The other day I received a newsletter from a hotel where I had stayed last year when they had then run a trip to Boundary Mill and Blackburn’s new market.
The guests returned while I was in the hotel and one said to me: ‘We should have stayed at Boundary Mill.’ The report was not good.
I noticed in the recent newsletter that Boundary Mill was still part of the trip but Blackburn Market was not.
I recently told the market manager what I thought of it and the unisex toilets which need sorting. I also spoke to stallholders and the feedback was not good.
Also, I have been told by someone that because of the layout of the market, it is not user friendly for anyone using a guide dog.
Where are the thousands of visitors who are supposed to visit every week? I never have seen the place heaving.
Sorry, Blackburn, but you are deluding yourselves. I for one am not impressed.
H Hamer.
