Why I settled for the points

IN Northumberland on holiday I drove past a speed camera at 35mph and received a summons in the post.

Without even thinking of passing the points on to someone else, I owned up.

They did offer me the alternative of a speed awareness course but only if I took it in Northumber-land which would have meant a 300-mile round trip for a three-hour course.

As this could have meant a serious contribution to climate change, and might well have upset the Minister, I paid up and took the points.

Coun Brian Gordon Blackburn.

This shows how much of a money making joke this scheme is.

Take your head out your backside and please explain why 3 Councillors are talking twaddle today.

You expect to be congratulated for taking the points rather than learning to drive correctley. There is a reason they send speeders on this course, especially complacent ones.

I got the same choice, and was given several choices of venue for the speed awareness course. I'm not saying you are lying but unless they have changed the process over the last few months????????
