I was dismayed to see notices at Pleasington threatening to clamp cars after 5 o’clock.
The road to the cemetery which passes through this area is very busy, even later in the afternoon and evening.
Many people will like to pay their respects after finishing work or picking up children from school and will be shocked to see this curtailed by the threat of clamping and a large fine to release their car.
Elderly people visiting the site will surely be caught out by this sudden change in the situation.
Also, there are many visitors who go to this open area to exercise their dogs or just visit the pleasant environment for fresh air and exercise.
Quite a few use the fields for jogging.
Surely putting time restrictions on this is just silly.
Many youths come to here to play cricket and football, surely something to encourage, and for many years the local model flying club has hired a portion of the site for its activities.
Any problems caused by later opening times should not be used as an excuse to inconvenience people or reduce the legitimate and constructive use of this valuable facility.
