IN relation to your article (LT, June 30) ‘Muslim told to remove veils on visit to college’, to be told to remove the veil in a public place is for security reasons and not any attempt to deface religion.
What should happen if a person entered a public place wearing a balaclava with just the eyes showing?
What would people think? They would be very suspicious of the person for wearing such a garb and rightly so.
If any non-Muslim visited a Muslim country and did not obey their rules, they would be in deep trouble.
When you are in another country you must do as they wish and honour their laws, dress code and alcohol laws and any other laws irrespective of whether we think it is right or wrong. It is right to remove these veils and not to say it is their chosen belief.
