THESE beaming children at a north Lancashire school were thrilled when they received a personal response from Buckingham Palace.
Youngsters at Arkholme Church of England Primary School, near Carnforth, sent a card to congratulate the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee.
And to their unexpected delight, the Palace wrote back, paying grateful thanks for the children’s kind words.
The letter, on behalf of Her Majesty to ‘Class 2, Arkholme C of E Primary School’, read: “The Queen greatly appreciates the care and time you have taken to make your card.”
Referencing the children’s plans to mark the event, the letter continued: “Her Majesty hopes you will all much enjoy the party in your playground on the last day of term.”
