A TWENTY-six-year-old who grew up in a Barratt house has secured a job as sales advisor at the company's Riverside View development in Lancaster.

Before joining Barratt Homes as an employee, a young Niall Richardson appeared in local newspapers attending a site safety visit at the Barratt site in Longridge.

He became the talk of the town and his parents bought a house there, with Niall even giving construction staff a helping hand building his new home. Twenty-two years later, the family still live there.

Niall, who previously worked as a shop manager, recalled: "The local primary school and Barratt Homes arranged for my class to attend the site and see the different stages of house building that take place.

“My family had just reserved our new home and I was featured hanging out of a window with a hard hat and high-visibility jacket on, holding a trowel.”

Michaela Lancaster, sales director at Barratt Manchester, said: “It was wonderful to hear Niall had grown up in a Barratt home and has fond memories of his site safety visit to the Longridge development all those years ago. Niall is a fantastic addition to our sales team at Riverside View."

Niall has won a number of awards in his working life for customer service and he added: "It must have been destiny I’d end up working for the company that built my home.”

Eighty per cent of the stone and red-brick properties at Riverside View, on New Quay Road in Lancaster, have now been sold. Three and four-bedroom homes are available from £181,995.
