HOUSEBUILDER Barratt Homes Manchester is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
The company was founded by Sir Lawrie Barratt in 1958 and has grown to become the UK's largest housebuilder, constructing more than 17,300 new homes last year.
Barratt has commissioned new market research which it says "confirms it as the country’s most recognised and well-known housebuilder".
During the past six decades the company has built a total of 450,000 houses, helping some 2.8 million families.
The recent research asked people to name the first housebuilder that came to mind, and Barratt picked up 19 per cent of the answers, nearly double its nearest competitor.
The company is planning to mark its diamond anniversary with a major new marketing campaign throughout 2018 featuring a special logo, new advertising, leaflets, web pages and signs to appear across its developments in Lancashire.
Barratt Homes Manchester is building at sites including Quernmore Park, Quernmore Road, Lancaster, and Riverside View, New Quay Road, Lancaster.
