FIFTY years since the end of the steam era at Carnforth railway station is to be celebrated with a special train journey in September.
Tickets are now on sale for the Brief Encounter steam special on Saturday, September 15, 2018. The circular route will take in Wennington, Bentham, Clapham, Giggleswick, Settle, Blackburn and Preston, departing from Carnforth around 11.45am and arriving back around 4.30pm. A buffet bar will be on board.
