CARNFORTH Town Council gave unanimous approval to the appointment of new town clerk Robert Bailey.
The post is currently held by Philip Charnley, and the new clerk is to start by March 31.
Mr Bailey is to be based in the council offices rather than working from home, and the town council is to abandon the practice of the clerk providing their own computer, phone and printer. Provision has been made in the 2018/19 budget, councillors heard at their recent meeting.
