CARNFORTH railway station's ticket office could be shut under proposals to be discussed by Lancashire County Council's Cabinet today (Thursday).
The council-run office is described as a "popular service" especially with older and disabled travellers.
If the closure is agreed a public consultation will take place, said council leader Cllr Geoff Driver. No other parts of the station would be affected.
The plan is part of a £7 million package of budget cuts over three years.
