A MOTHER-of-two appealing against a suspended jail term and a long ban imposed after she smashed into a car whilst drunk,' could be successful.

Sarah Walton , 27, did not turn up to Burnley Crown Court to hear her appeal and did not have lawyers. But a barrister stepped in to represent her and she has been given another chance to attend.

Judge Andrew Woolman adjourned the case part-heard.

The appellant, of Spring Street, Rishton, had earlier been convicted of driving whilst unfit, failing to stop, failing to report an accident, and having no licence and no insurance.

Is this some sort of joke article to see if we readers are paying attention?!
No licence, no insurance and drunk as a skunk -- why on earth should she get her licence back sooner -- oh wait hang on a minute she hasn't got a licence to be given back!!
She should never be allowed back behind the wheel until proving her worth/sobriety.
I note she couldn't even be bothered to turn up at Crown Court (pubs were probably open) but thank heavens for legal aid stepping in at our expense to give her another chance.....
