Man has part of ear bitten off in Rishton fight

A MAN had part of his ear bitten off as he tried to protect his girlfriend in an argument.
The victim needed surgery to piece his ear back together following the incident in Clarke Street, Rishton, shortly after midnight in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police said an argument broke out between a woman and another man and she was struck.
Her partner stepped in and during a fight, his ear was bitten.
The victims are in their early 20s.
Police investigated over the weekend and a man handed himself into the police yesterday.
Kyle Granite, 20, of no fixed address, appeared at Blackburn Magistrates Court today charged with wounding with intent and assault.
His case was sent to Preston Crown Court.
