ROADS will be closed in the Walmsley Street and Albert Road area of Rishton for a month as part of a £125,000 scheme to stop flooding.
United Utilities is laying 35m of new sewer along Albert Street and building new manholes.
On Walmsley Street engineers will construct 10m of new sewer pipe and a large diameter manhole.
The work will remove homes from the ‘at risk’ register during torrential rainfall.
Work starts on Monday, March 8.
