A TONNE of household waste was 'deliberately' set on fire in a woodland last night.
Fire crews were called to reports of a fire involving one tonne of dumped household waste in a woodland on Spring Street, Rishton yesterday just after 7pm.
A fire spokesman said: "The waste was deliberately set alight on the cycle path that people walk on.
"It was general household waste that was taken there and dumped."
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
