COUNCILLORS have praised the success of this years Rishton Festival.
Thousands attended the 14th annual event which took place at Norden High School on Saturday.
As well as activities and entertainment at the school field a parade was held from Rishton Library car park along School Street and Cliff Street featuring school and community groups.
The event also marked the end of the sixth month community art project 'Reviresco' which was fined by a £15,000
The scheme involved local artist Ursula Hurst working with 15 primary school and community groups in the area to create a variety of art work to be displayed in Piggy Park and around the town.
Cllr Jeff Scales, who represents the area on Hyndburn Council, said: "It was wonderful just to see everyone come together.
"It is just an absolutely fantastic event for the area.
"It attracts people to the area and it was great that we also had nice weather to bring people down."
The event also included fairground rides, charity and community stalls and beer tent.
