STAFF at a nursery in Hyndburn have been praised after Ofsted who said it no longer needed improvement.

Rishton Pre-School Learning Group, in Stourton Street, was rated “‘good”’ during a recent inspection –— seven months after being ordered to improve.

Ofsted inspector, Jacqueline Midgley carried out observations, spoke to children, parents, and carers, and examined a range of documents in during a recent visit to the group, which documents said currently looks after 14 children.

She said teaching provides a broad range of experience to help them youngsters make “‘good progress”’ towards their goals, praised theteaching quality of , and said she was also impressed by managers impressed her.

She said: “Teaching is very good across the pre-school as because practitioners provide a good range of interesting, stimulating and challenging experiences for children to enjoy both indoors and outside. This means that cChildren thoroughly enjoy exploring the environment while being supported and encouraged to try new things.”

To further improve its rating to ‘outstanding’, the best possible score, the pre-school should encourage good manners at snack times to ‘support children’s social development’, and keep its website up-to-date.
