Warning to Hyndburn fly-tippers

HOUSEHOLDERS are being warned they face prosecution if they use a ‘man with a van’ to get rid of waste.

Hyndburn Council issued the warning following a number of incidents where letters and parcels were found with the identities of householders at flytipping sites.

Deputy leader of Hyndburn Council Clare Pritchard said; “There have been a number of fly tipping incidents recently and investigations are on-going.

“Householders are required by law to take reasonable care over they waste they produce. If they use an unscrupulous operator they could face prosecution.”

Call 388111 to report any incidents.

Maybe if the county council could stop shutting recycling centres, maybe the problem would reduce.

or how about reducing payments for the permit....it must have a cost implication against the cost of clean up teams?

Quite so.
I don't understand why the Conservatives decided to to continue Labours policy of closing the recycling centres. Its not exactly a vote wining policy is it? And the savings made, after all the expense of closure, is really negligable in the overall scheme of things.

It came out during the labour government that global warming is a load of rubbish it wasn't true it was a lie. So its obvious that the tory spivs would carry on with closing recycling centers.

If global warming is a lie, then isn't it the right policy to close these recycling centers? A spiv would want to keep the con going!!
.
All you need to do is check that the "WVM" has a licence and gives you a proper receipt.

Iv'e just been on a drive by the Mill Hill picnic site near Huncoat and someone had dumped a load of rubbish in the ford. I had to reverse back up the hill and turn around as it was blacking the way. This is the 2nd time this month I have seen rubbish dumped in the area. I have noticed at the first dump that a cctv cam has been put up, unsure if it works though.
