6:30pm Tuesday 29th November 2011 in Oswaldtwistle
A 15-year-old girl has been reported missing from her home in Oswaldtwistle today.
Sophie Edes was last seen by her friend at her home address around 1.30pm this afternoon.
She left with no money and police are concerned for her welfare.
Sophie is described as white, around 5ft 7inches tall, slim build with shoulder-length, dyed-red hair worn in a ponytail.
She speaks in a southern accent and was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved jumper, black tracksuit bottoms and beige Ugg boots.
Detective Chief Inspector Dean Holden said: “Sophie is vulnerable due to her age and we are concerned for her welfare.
"She also has behavioural issues that increase her vulnerability and can potentially pose a risk to other children.
“Sophie is fixated by babies and may tell people she is pregnant which she is not.
“It is highly likely that she will be trying to get down to Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire where she has family and she will potentially fabricate stories to facilitate this.
“She may be trying to hitch a lift or get on a train and I would urge people to be vigilant and to report any sightings of her to police by dialling 999."
