BREWERIES, pie makers and jam producers have all been shortlisted for a major award.
Thirteen businesses in East Lancashire will battle it out for an array of prizes at the Food Northwest Awards 2009 which will be presented in Manchester on June 25.
Oswaldtwistle jam company Reedy’s Naturally’s is up for the environmental sustainability award, while the brewery company Thwaites, based in Blackburn, is short-listed for the UKTI award for international trade.
Chorley-based Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board has been shortlisted for the award for excellence alongside Sawley red meat processor Dunbia.
Baxenden’s Holland’s Pies is up for the corporate social responsibility prize, while its parent company Northern Foods has been shortlisted in the environmental sustainability category.
Burnley success story Moorhouses Brewery is in the small and medium size enterprises category.
Other companies up for awards include Adams Very Clever Ltd, Burnley; Hills Fine Foods, Longridge; Hartley’s Farm Food, Nelson; The Eagle at Barrow and The Fence Gate Inn and The Real Lancashire Black Pudding Company in Haslingden.
