A ‘PRINCESS and Prince’ fundraising party is to take place to try and help a seriously-ill child go on holiday to Disney.

Five year-old Zachary Bland-Faina is dreaming of a once in a lifetime trip to the holiday resort in Paris.

The youngster from Oswaldtwistle suffers from cerebral palsy and the rare virus, Cytomegalovirus, which has left him deaf and partially-sighted.

On Saturday the Disney themed party will be taking place at the Civic Arts Centre from 2pm.

Zachary’s mum Laura Bland launched an online fundraising page earlier this year aiming to raise £10,000 to fund the holiday and the cost of insurance.

Zachary’s previous bid to get Disney hit a stumbling block over the estimated £6,000 insurance cost after gym owner Mickii Edwards had raised the money to pay for the holiday.

His family have now set up the campaign to fund the money for the trip themselves.

Miss Bland said: “Fingers crossed if raise enough we can make his dream come true as he loves all the Disney characters.”

Tickets are £4.50 per child and £3.00 per adult and are available on 01254 398319
