A 20-YEAR-OLD singer songwriter is hoping to further his dreams of breaking into the music industry with the release of his latest EP.

Callum Thomas, from Oswaldtwistle will be holding a special event at the Civic Arts Centre later this month to ‘Rebirth’.

The release will contain five original tracks and is his second EP after released ‘Dusk to Dawn’ in 2013.

Mr Thomas reached the national grand final of singing competition ‘Teen Star’ in 2014 at being spotted n the back of his first EP.

The former Rhyddings High School pupils is now hoping to catch the attention of music bosses to help realise his lifelong dream.

He said: “I’ve been interested in singing for almost my whole life.

“It’s a really exciting time for me, I haven’t released any music in four years.

“I just think you need to go for it.

“If you don’t you’ll never achieve what you want, and even if you don’t achieve it you might find something else great.”

Mr Thomas is studying popular music composition at Leeds College of Music and is about to enter the final year of his course.

He produced and released his latest LP with just the help of friend Tom Durkern.

Mr Thomas said that each song on his EP will feature a different sound, such as tropical, rock and pop.

He sites numerous musical influences on his career such as Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert and David Bowie and said he loves ‘unique’ artists.

Looking into the future the Roe Greave Road resident said he would like to forge a career as a songwriter.

He said: “I think in the future I would like to work for a record label writing songs.

“I’d love for people to hear my songs and lyrics and to make a career out of that.

“’I’ve performed to people from the age of five to 70, I just want to satisfy my fans.

“The thing that takes me back most is when people I don’t know tell me they like my songs, I just think wow.”

The former St Christophers Sixth Form pupil has more than 1,000 followers on Twitter and 700 fans on Facebook.

Since 2012 Mr Thomas has been performing gigs in venues such as pubs and primary school in Oswaldtwistle, Accrington and across East Lancashire.
