A SCHOOL has raised more than £1,800 in memory of a former pupil.

St Christopher’s CE High School in Accrington has been raising money for the Anaphylaxis Campaign to remember Oswaldtwistle teenager Megan Lee.

The 15-year-old died on New Year’s Day after suffering a severe allergic reaction.

The school in Queen’s Road West has raised the amount, which is 90 per cent of the way towards its fundraising target of £2,000 for the charity.

More than 140 people have donated including staff, students and parents from the school.

The charity looks to raise money to support people with severe allergies and raise awareness of the risks to others.

Last week at the school a permanent memorial to Megan was set up which includes a willow sculpture above a bench with a pink plaque.
