PETER Kay made DVDs at the top of Blackpool Tower and at Bolton Albert Halls - now another comedian is recording his show in front of a Lancashire audience.

Colin Manford will film his hour-long Youtube Show at Oswaldtwistle Civic Centre on Sunday.

He said it will involve 'banter, games and just general silliness featuring lip sync battles, electric shock games and water war' - and to ensure there's a full house it's free entry.

The centre, in Union Road, regularly hosts Manford’s Comedy Club, launched by 8 Out of 10 Cats star Jason and his brother Colin to showcase up-and-coming stand-up talent.

Colin said: "I chose Oswaldtwistle for my YouTube show for a few reasons - the first being The Civic is one of the greatest if not the greatest gigs on the UK Comedy Circuit and we at Manford's Comedy Club are lucky that we are there.

"Secondly, I just love saying 'Oddwaldtwistle', (corr) and thirdly the people of Oswaldtwistle are amazing, always up for a laugh and very supportive of live arts - I cannot wait for Sunday's show."

Jason Manford's younger brother followed him on to the stage after "a somewhat chequered few years in and out of colleges and odd jobs".

They both have an ability to make light of things when growing up as the Manford family struggled to make ends meet during Colin’s early life in Whalley Range, Manchester - another older brother Stephen, a plumber by trade, is also a magician.

But Colin's entry to the game wasn't a total success - he was belled off at the King Gong at the Comedy Store in Manchester within two minutes.

However, veteran comedian Mick Ferry gave him a pep talk and within days Colin won the similar competition Beat the Frog and he set off on stand up under the pseudonym of Colin Charles.

The bar is open but anyone wanting to go needs to reserve a space due to limited numbers. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Colin is back in Oswaldtwistle once a month for the rest of the year, returning on Sunday, July 12, with Danny McGloughlin, Glen Wool, Tom Little and Chris McCausland. Tickets: £12.50.
