A VIRAL picture apparently showing Christmas lights in Oswaldtwistle in a phallus-like arrangement is a HOAX.
The photo shows festive lights, including a candle and baubles, in an unknown location and is being widely circulated online.

Although Twitter users were quick to poke fun at the display, the lights in Oswaldtwistle have not yet been turned on.
A quick image search also revealed the image to be old.

Coun Peter Britcliffe said: “I’ve seen the photo, and it’s some sort of hoax because Oswaldtwistle’s lights aren’t even up yet.
“I suppose somewhere people will find it amusing, but I don’t think even Hyndburn Council could make a mistake like this.
“The lights we have in Oswaldtwistle are usually very nice indeed. Someone has obviously spotted something somewhere and is having a laugh at our expense.
“But we will have the last laugh on Sunday when we switch on our lights.”
