A NIGHT has been organised to celebrate the life of a former pub landlord who died of a heart attack after a bailiff turned up on his doorstep.
Andy Miller, 78, who had a heart condition, died after the bailiff came looking for payment on a £350 speeding fine.
Now his friends and family have organised an “evening of celebration” at his former pub, the Cabin End in Knuzden, on Friday.
Mr Miller, of India Street, Accrington, died on January 6 after he was taken into Accrington town centre to find a cash point by a court appointed bailiff.
An investigation has been launched by the National Court Service after Jack Straw, the Blackburn MP and justice minister, stepped in.
Mr Miller’s funeral service and cremation will be held at Pleasington Crematorium on Friday, January 23, at 2pm.
Donations in memory of Andy can be made to The Meningitis Trust c/o Scales Funeral Service, 134 Darwen Street, Blackburn.
The celebration at the Cabin End will held after the funeral.
