Patrols to stop Huncoat park drinkers

POLICE have stepped up patrols in Huncoat to combat youths drinking and causing a nuisance.

Officers are concentrating on the Peel Park and Avenue Parade areas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: “The neighbourhood policing team increased patrols at the relevant times, working alongside a neighbouring team on educational awareness project.

"As a result there has been a vastly reduced number of calls.”
