Diana Vickers splits from her record label Diana Vickers splits from her record label

DIANA Vickers has left her big-name record label to pursue her indie rock roots.

The 19-year-old from Huncoat was signed to Sony/RCA after making the semi-finals of The X Factor three years ago.

She achieved chart-topping success with debut single Once and the album Songs From The tainted Cherry Tree.

However, her last two singles failed to hit the same heights, coming in at 36 and 13.

Now it is believed that she wants to develop her Indie style, and rumours are she has been working with Chorley-born Starsailor singer James Walsh.

On her Tumblr blog, Diana confirmed the split from RCA.

She said: “I just want to let you know what the crack is at the moment down in the Vickers camp.

"Myself and RCA have decided to part company, purely based on a creative level. I will always be really thankful for the time we've spent together and the support they've given me.

"But, I've grown up a lot since the first album and whilst the past couple years have been a lot of fun and a great success, I'm now ready to take a wander down a different, very exciting path! In order to grow, this change has to be made."

She added: “I'm so proud of where the second album is right now and I'm counting down the minutes until it's all ready and you guys can finally hear it.

"I've been having the best time over the past six months - being creative, working with so many inspirational people, falling in love with LA and growing as an artist."

Diana’s management team was unavailable for comment yesterday.

'Indi Rock Roots'?!!! Jesus christ...the closest this woman has ever been to 'Rock' is probably in Blackpool!...She was probably dumped by her record label due to her not being a marketable product any more...Just like almost every other freak wannabe that was spewed out by the X-Factor...Hopefully
,this will be the last time we have to endure this woman's godawful voice...

Decided to part company? She is in dreamland, they wouldn't renew her contract and she isn't big enough to admit it. Woman's a loser.

I bet that the record label are upset "not" . I think that she should take some time off and decide what path she wants to take in the future, and whilst she is waiting she should get a job at a "fast food" take away. Other than that she will have to start spending the millions that she has earned from her massive record sales.

I'm not a fan of her awful music but I was amazed with the significant air time she had on the radio in Europe. She must have done something right or had a seriously good PR set up behind her.

"Dropped purely becuase of creative reasons only?"

Oh you mean liek Rick Waller and Gareth Gates wwere dropped purely for creative reasons?

Get a life! The reason you were dropped was that you couldn't sell records, why try to hide it? Denial. She hasn't got 'indie' credibility and woon't be taken seriously as that kind of act.

Her debut number one was a pop song, and that was the only successful one!

I rest my case.

Spot on mys, what an awful bunch of haters we have in Lancashire. If just one of them had tried even in the smallest way that Diana has the world would be a hugely better place.

Do people really have to be haters or is it the fact some people can recognised a talentless has been ?
No more screechy voice to be heard in my opinion.

'Creative' differences usual translates as money differences leading to a large row.
The 'nasty' comments are probably a result of the readers not understanding why the LET felt the need to put this story up on the website because it is a fairly non-story.
