SPOUT House Community Woodland in Huncoat is set to host a seasonal activity day on Saturday, November 29, as part of National Tree Week.

There will be a range of activities for families to a take part in, enjoy and help improve their local woodland into the bargain.

A selection of Christmas crafts will also be on offer, with the chance to make Christmas wreaths, stars or angels to take home. Visitors can also decorate a woodland tree, get creative and make their own natural decorations.

Materials and tools will be provided to make a bird box and there will also be the chance to get hands on with woodland thinning to help the existing woodland to progress.

Guests will also see a beautiful natural shape being carved into a tree.

Coun Miles Parkinson, leader of Hyndburn Council, said: “Spout House Community Woodland is looking great, with the new trees and meadow areas developing well.

"There’s a whole range of seasonal activities for local people to enjoy, so please come along and support the activity day.”

For all activities meet at the meadow across the playing fields from Bolton Avenue. Participants should take wellies, warm clothes and waterproofs.
