A MECHANIC who had been out with work colleagues made the "foolish" decision to drive home when he couldn't get a taxi.
Blackburn magistrates heard Christopher Millner was spotted by police who thought he was driving too fast.
Millner, 28, of King Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was fined £350 with £85 costs and £35 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 17 months.
Paul Huxley, defending, said Millner had parked the car outside his house and was walking up the drive when police approached him.
"He is extremely remorseful and bitterly disappointed with himself," said Mr Huxley.
