A POPULAR barman died from the effects of amphetamine use, an inquest has heard.
Richard Martin was found dead at his home n Edgar Street in Accrington on July 4 last year age 54.
He had previously worked behind the bar at the Duke of Wellington pub in Great Harwood for around 10 years.
Mr Martin, known as Skinner by friends, attended St Nicholas Primary School in Accrington before going to St Christophers Secondary School.
An inquest was held earlier this week to find out the cause of death, carried out by Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen area coroner Richard Taylor.
The conclusion for the inquest from Lancashire County Council said: "Richard Martin was found dead on 4th July 2017 at Empire House, 13 Edgar Street, Accrington from the effects of amphetamine use."
The Lancashire Telegraph reported last year friends had set up a fundraising page to give the 'inspirational' man 'the funeral he deserves' following his death.
