A MAN suffered slash marks to his head, back and arm after a 'brutal' attack.

Police have just released information about the incident which took place on Saturday, March 3, in Glebe Street, Great Harwood.

It is believed both the victim, 29, and suspects had been out drinking when the man was attacked by several Asian men at 4am.

The man, from Clayton-le-Moors, suffered slash marks to his head, back and arm and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

Police want to identify the attackers involved and are appealing for information.

Detective Constable Phil Scott, said: "This was a particularly brutal and vicious group assault which left a man with a number of serious injuries.

“We believe the victim was attacked with several weapons before the offenders made off from the scene.

"We understand a number of people were in the area at the time of the incident and could assist with our enquiries."
