AN appeal has been launched by police who are looking to speak to a man after an assault at a wine bar.

Officers are wanting to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV still after they were called to Baggys Wine Bar in Great Harwood at 11.45pm on Friday.

When they arrived at the bar in Glebe Street police found a door was damaged and a man had been assaulted.

The man, who police believe is a door supervisor at the bar, suffered minor injuries and did not need medical treatment.

Officers are looking to speak to the man pictured, who is described as white and in his late 30s.

He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans.

Hyndburn local policing inspector Steve Rides said that 'acts of violence in licensed premises won't be tolerated.'

He said: "The incident has been passed for the attention of the licensing department.

"Acts of violence in licensed premises won’t be tolerated. 

"We will actively seek the offender of this particular incident and ensure they are held accountable for their actions."

A Hyndburn Police spokesman said: "Officers were called at 11:45pm on Friday to reports that a male has been assaulted and a glass window in the door had been smashed.

"We would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV stills.

"We believe that this man can help us with our investigation."
