CONTROVERSIAL plans to build more than 200 homes in Great Harwood are set to be given final approval.
In 2015 Hyndburn Council gave planning permission Reilly Developments Ltd to build 217 homes in Lyndon Playing Fields.
The final reserved matters for the site are set to go before the planning committee today and are recommended for approval, subject to conditions.
This includes work on access, appearance, landscape, layout and scale to the area.
More than 1,150 residents petitioned against the plans when they were first issued and 19 more complaints have been received since the original plans were approved.
A council report said: “Officers are satisfied that the proposal satisfies the relevant planning policies with regard to its design, scale and layout.”
The development will include detached and semi-detached homes, alongside bungalows, on the 17-acre site in Harwood Lane.
