TWO women who intervened when their male friend was being arrested ended up in the cells.
Rebecca Anderson, 19, and Alex Walker, 19, both of Lewis Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

They were each fined £40 and ordered to pay a £150 criminal court charge and a £20 victim surcharge.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the women and a male were in Accrington town centre at 5am and the male was arrested for being drunk and disorderly after police saw him throwing traffic cones into the road.
Miss Allan said that the women became involved at that point and were also arrested.
