Community policing teams are changing their shift hours over the next few weeks to try and catch graffiti vandals targeting Clayton-le-Moors.
Police believe the vandals are aged as young as 11 and 12.
Officers in the community beat team usually work between 10am - 6pom or noon to 8pm but will now work until midnight in the hope of catching the youngsters in the act.
Graffiti has been daubed in Mercer Park, in Mercer Street and at the Moor Street Youth and Community Centre.
