Homeless man jailed for theft at Clayton-le-Moors supermarket

A HOMELESS man has been jailed for repeatedly stealing food and money.

John Lee Behan, 36, of no fixed address, stole £25 worth of food from Tesco Express in Oswaldtwistle on January 7, trespassed at Harvest Golden Foods, in Clayton-le-Moors and stole a purse, stole razors and cream cakes from the Co-op in Clayton-le-Moors on March 14 as well as breaking terms of a suspended sentence.

In total, Blackburn magistrates sent Behan to prison for 116 days, with the four days he spent on remand forming part of his sentence.
