TWO schoolchildren have hit the national television screen after staring in an advert for an award winning hotel.

Harry Drew, 12, and Hugh Hek, 7, from Clayton-le-Moors are featured in the new TV advert for Ribby Hall Village in Preston to promote their self-catering holiday cottages and pine lodges.

The advert is being screened on popular channels such as the Disney channel, Nickelodeon and ITV.

Harry who attends St Christopher’s High School and Hugh who attends Altham St James School are featured in the advert enjoying the woodland trail at Ribby Hall Village, jumping off logs and exploring.

The children 'felt like stars' after returning to school following the advert being screen.

Harry said: “I loved being able to have fun with my brothers when filming, exploring the woodland.”

Hugh said: “I felt like a star when I went in to school after the Christmas holidays as people had seen me on the TV.”

The 30 second advert which was created and filmed in-house by Ribby Hall Village staff features real people rather than actors.

The 5-star holiday village put out a casting call for family, friends and customers of the business and a handful were chosen to feature in the advert which focuses mainly on children having a good time on holiday.

The advert will also air on Milkshake, Pop, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and STV and will run until March 31.

Marketing co-ordinator Matthew Worthington came up with the idea to produce and develop a TV advertisement in-house featuring real moments that can be shared at Ribby Hall Village.

The advert focusses on all the ‘moments’ that make up the perfect holiday for a child with the punch line - ‘It’s moments like this!”

The Spa Hotel at Ribby Hall Village, which is now in its sixth year of business, has just been awarded ‘Best for Customer Service’ at the national Good Spa Guide awards.

The village, which gets lots of visitors from East Lancashire, also finished as a finalist at the highly regarded AA Awards in London, finishing runner up to The Savoy London.
