A HOUSING association has pledged to work with a family struggling to cope in a one bedroom bungalow.

Wheelchair user Samantha Titterington lives with her partner George and four-month-old son in a property designed for a pensioner, as the Lancashire Telegraph reported on Saturday.

The Gloucester Avenue bedroom is too cramped for an adapted cot and Samantha’s specialised hospital bed. George is also left caring for them both in the Clayton-le-Moors property, which is not fully adapted.

A Hyndburn Homes spokeswoman said: “Providing quality, suitable accommodation for our tenants is our priority and we empathise with Samantha’s current situation.

“When her circumstances changed in February, we updated her application to increase her chances of finding alternative accommodation. We contacted Samantha on Wednesday to review her application and to offer additional support. We will continue to work with Samantha until suitable accommodation becomes available and we invite Samantha to meet with us to discuss her requirements.”
