Maybe if the county council could stop shutting recycling centres, maybe the problem would reduce.
    Quite so.
I don't understand why the Conservatives decided to to continue Labours policy of closing the recycling centres. Its not exactly a vote wining policy is it? And the savings made, after all the expense of closure, is really negligable in the overall scheme of things."

Warning to Hyndburn fly-tippers

HOUSEHOLDERS are being warned they face prosecution if they use a ‘man with a van’ to get rid of waste.

Hyndburn Council issued the warning following a number of incidents where letters and parcels were found with the identities of householders at flytipping sites.

Deputy leader of Hyndburn Council Clare Pritchard said; “There have been a number of fly tipping incidents recently and investigations are on-going.

“Householders are required by law to take reasonable care over they waste they produce. If they use an unscrupulous operator they could face prosecution.”
