Coronation Street star joins Accrington charity walk
SHOPPERS in Accrington got a shock when they came face to face with Coronation Street’s Hayley Cropper.
Actress Julie Hesmondhalgh was promoting Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary Club’s charity walk, which takes place in May. She manned a stall for Accrington homeless charity Maundy Relief at Accrington Market Hall.
Julie is a patron for the charity and was encouraging shoppers to join the walk. This year’s walk covers a seven mile circular route and in the past has raised £60,000 for various charities.
Julie is pictured above collecting, and with Stuart Duhan, Ken Hargreaves and Ron Pickup For more information visit www.rotarycharitywalk.org.uk

No; the actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, the sometime Julie Kershaw, appeared in Accrington. As evinced by the published photograph, she was not wearing the costume which associates her with the character of Hayley Cropper. Why pretend otherwise, when it is admitted in the second paragraph that the actress was present in her capacity as a patron?

ours' were drinking and shouting.once alone i cried in desparation.i went back to maundy,to my ashtonishment 'mother therasa' had turned into the **** from hell..she told me#1landlord would not give me my money back#2 i was not the only homeless person and i should be grateful for their help. yes,i was homeless but i still had some pride and standards.i complained to d.w.p. but she lied to them, saying that she came to the property with me and witnessed it as suitable.i had to pay£350 back to d.w.p. for absolutely nothing.seems to me,this cowboy landlord from willows lane and mrs maundy have a good thing going...£350 clear profit,no outlay and the house still there waiting for some other desperate person to fall into the trap.i say close the place.

What would you want if you were homeless? I dealt with nearly a dozen different charities and because of those that 'take the ****' most doors were shut with them, somehow Maundy has managed to keep their personality in it all, which is more important than the things they give away, for the first time during my homelessness Maundy made me feel human again, not some outcast loser, my homelessness wasn't my fault, I was one of the smartest kids in my school and came out with straight As at GCSE but my alcoholic parents kicked me out when I wanted to do my A levels, Maundy gave me the opportunity and hope to get back on track and now I'm at Uni and more grounded than ever.
I've seen what they do for others too, have any of you been there at xmas? tons of toys are given away! and for those that have shown that they aren't going to sell them for drugs- xboxes nd mountain bikes and all sorts! Maundy do a lot, the fact that people from other areas might be coming to Accy just shows how poor the support is elsewhere, if you have aa problem with it- help them! or shut it down and just hope that you never end up needing support because trust me, with them gone you'll be lucky to get any

All move to Darwen then.If accrington is that bad move out & live somewhere else. All you lot do is winge on about how bad Accrington is.Can i suggest you register for your rights to vote before 18/04/12 then you can change the face of local government.Oh sorry no.You'll all be on your x boxs or injecting drugs istead of doing something about it all.You make me sick losers.
As for changing the face of local government, people like yourself have been brainwashed into believing that political parties are seperate from each other and want the best for the people they represent. Wake up and smell the coffee.
People will complain, out of sheer frustration, maundy is there to stay no matter who gets in, as for moving to Darwen, how long till Darwen gets the same treatment? Before you say oh it will never happen, bet the people of Accrington said that many moons ago. Face it you are damned if you do and damned if you dont. All part of a master plan so to speak.
