VOLUNTARY groups have donated more than £500 to a cancer charity after holding a treasure hunt.

The money raised was donated to Rosemere Cancer Foundation, based in Lancashire, after a joint project by ‘Ready to Network’ and Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary after the event in and around Whalley.

When they were presented with the cheque, Dan Hill from the cancer charity gave a presentation on the groups 20 year anniversary project which is seeing them try to raise £1.5 million to finance three projects for cancer care.

The equipment will be based at their teaching centre in Lancashire.

Ian McTurk, assistant rotary governor for South East Lancashire, paid tribute to the charity saying, “Without doubt this has been a most impressive presentation.

"All Rotary members very much appreciate what Rosemere do for the people of Lancashire and surrounding areas and we at Rotary are always mindful of this organisation, when we distribute funds”
