Gold award for Holland's Pies at British Pie Awards

AN East Lancashire pie firm proved the upper crust in the British Pie Awards.

Holland’s Pies, based in Baxenden, won a gold award in the Football Stadia class for its Big Eat peppered steak pie.

The event was held in Melton Mowbray, and showcased some of the finest pies from across the country.

Spokesman David Girdler said: “To win gold in such a field is a real accomplishment.

“We make literally millions of pies every year, but every single one is made with care and love.

“Our goal is to produce pies that are loved by everyone, not only football fans who clearly have great taste.

“This award shows we are achieving that,” he added.

The winning pie is available at football stadiums, including Manchester United, Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Manchester City.
