MP backs bid for Baxenden bus service

HYNDBURN’S MP is backing a campaign to reinstate a Baxenden bus service.

A campaign by Hyndburn councillors June Harrison and Terry Hurn is calling for the reinstatement of the number 12 bus service following the subsidy withdrawal from LCC and consequent ending of the previous service.

MP Graham Jones said: “We have spoken to bus operators in the hope that a market day service may be revived based on sufficient patronage for the service.”

they also need to work with Rossendale Borough Council and reinstate the 464 evening bus beyond Haslingden. You cannot study at Accrington college in the evening unless you have your own transport as the last bus leaves at 8.50 pm. It leaves Haslingden to Accrington at 8.30 pm. You can't socialise or work after these times unless you drive or can afford taxis. Please sort this out too !
