HOLLAND’S Pies have axed a dozen jobs from their Baxenden site following a multi-million pound takeover earlier this year.
The jobs have been lost after parent company Northern Foods was acquired by tycoon Ranjit Boparan in a £342million deal.
Boparan, owner of Harry Ramsden’s fish and chip shops, has begun making changes at Northern, including closing the firm’s Leeds HQ and moving staff elsewhere.
In June the company shed 10 jobs at the Baxenden plant.
Bosses said the measures at the firm, which has been based in Blackburn Road for more than 100 years, were necessary to ensure Holland’s remained competitive.
A Holland’s Pies spokesperson said: "As part of our continued focus on ensuring Holland’s can become more efficient, we have proposed a very small number of redundancies.”
