ANIMAL centre workers have appealed for help finding a ‘forever home’ for cross breed Milly after years of being ignored by visitors.
The brindle-coloured dog has spent most of the three years of her life at the RSPCA Animal Centre in Altham and is still without a home.
For two-and-a-half years, she has seen prospective owners walk past her kennel time and time again, to another, luckier, dog nearby.
Milly came in the branch’s care in May 2007 after her former owners were unable to look after her.
During her time at RSPCA Lancs East Branch, staff have worked with Milly to calm her excitable nature and help her socialise with other dogs.
They say she has since made great progress, but will still require dog training classes.
Centre manager Jeanette Ainscough said: “Milly is a lovely, intelligent dog who is looking for a loving owner with plenty of time, patience and under-standing.
"She likes to be stimulated mentally and physically but will also need a calm owner who will be quiet and placid around her.
“She would be fine around children from aged 10 upwards but will need a home without any other animals.
“If I could make a plea on Milly’s behalf it would be to please adopt her if you can offer her all the love, time, patience and care she needs.
"She’s a sweet, affectionate, special dog and doesn’t always want to be the one that’s left behind.”
The cost of adopting a dog from RSPCA Lancs East Branch is £100 including neutering, microchipping, vaccinations and worming/flea treatments.
For more details, visit the centre, near Holker House Farm, off Enfield Road, Altham, 11am to 4pm except Thursday, or call 01254 231 118.
