HYNDBURN MP Graham Jones said he was left ‘amazed’ after visiting a local company. North West Logistics, which has its base in Shorten Brook Way, Altham, is planning to expand its operations, Mr Jones said. “I'm always amazed at the diversity of employers and companies we have in Hyndburn, and it's impressive to see how a firm in the constituency can be operating in Europe and looking to expand. “We discussed a number of things that I will be taking up with ministers, in particular fuel expenses and how this affects competition with European operators, and the issue of foreign hauliers operating in the UK beyond their permitted work.” North West Logistics currently has a fleet of around 60 vehicles, which can carry a full load down to a single pallet, the firm’s website said.
