Accrington woman in row kicked out at car
10:00pm Thursday 26th July 2012 in Accrington
A 25-YEAR-OLD Accrington woman kicked out at a car during a drunken row with her boyfriend.
Blackburn magistrates heard Samantha Joanne Williams caused £200 worth of damage to the vehicle, which belonged to a total stranger.
Williams, of Dunnishop Avenue, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and failing to surrender to bail.
She was ordered to pay £300 compensation and made subject to a curfew for two weeks.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the incident was the type of random criminal damage that causes great inconvenience to members of the public.
“She was having an argument in the street and decided to vent her anger by kicking a motor vehicle belonging to a totally innocent party,” said Miss Allan.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Williams had gone into the town centre with her boyfriend intending to watch the Euro 2012 football final. She had more to drink than she perhaps should have and by 7 pm there was an argument about money and cigarettes which became heated,” he said.
