A LORRY stuck under a bridge caused major traffic chaos this afternoon.
The lorry with its massive load became jammed in Dunkenhalgh Way, Accrington, close to the roundabout for junction seven of the M65 at around 1pm.
Police were forced to close one lane of the dual carriageway, and the knock-on congestion spread to the motorway itself.
Firefighters were able to free the vehicle later in the afternoon and police then reopened the road.
